Statute.
The Council consists of well-known scientists of Moldova, scientific administrators, information systems and networking specialists, which represents the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, Universities of Moldova, and other scientific and educational institutions.
The Council produces strategy decisions on RENAM network and information systems development directions, considering and adopting technical suggestions. The Council is headed by its elected Chairman. In 2005 acad. Gheorghe Duca, the President of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova became the RENAM’s Council Chairman. In 2006 Professor, academician Gh. Rusnac, the former Rector of the State University of Moldova was elected as RENAM Council Chairman.
In 2007 Professor, academician Ion Bostan was reelected as RENAM’s Council Chairman. At the RENAM Council meeting in February 2008 Professor Grigore Belostecinic, Rector ASEM was elected as Chairman of RENAM Council. At the RENAM Council meeting in February 2009 academician Ion Ababii, Rector of State Medical and Pharmaceutical University “Nicolae Testemiţanu” was elected as Chairman of RENAM Council for one year period. In March 2011 the President of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova acad. Gheorghe DUCA was elected as Chairman of RENAM Council.
Between Council meetings the Association is governed by Co-presidents of the Association. At present two co-presidents were appointed:
Ion Bostan, Professor, academician, the Rector of the Technical University of Moldova, and
Ion Tighineanu, Professor, academician, Vice-President, Academy of Sciences of Moldova.
The Managing Council of the Association appoints executive managers department with RENAM Executive Director as a head. The activity of Association’s Executive Department is supervised by The Managing Council of the Association.
