On September 23, 2025, the National Research and Education Network RENAM organizes the Infoshare ‘OCRE 2024 Framework in Moldova’, specifically for the members of the Moldovan research and education community.
The primary goal of this Infoshare is to inform national stakeholders about the OCRE 2024 Framework, highlighting its key aspects and benefits. The session will cover the OCRE 2024 platforms available in Moldova (which include AWS, Exoscale, Google Cloud, CloudFerro, and Setcor), and offerings presented by the first-ranked service providers. Participants will also learn about the use cases of cloud services utilized by R&E communities in other European countries. The target audience includes institutional management and e-infrastructure teams, university staff, and scientific researchers.
The OCRE 2024 Framework was launched by GÉANT in February 2025. It is the third iteration of GÉANT’s flagship cloud frameworks and will be in place for a period of 5 years, until 2030. Resulting from a pan-European procurement established under the GN5-1 project and building on the successes of the previous frameworks, the OCRE 2024 Framework will enable tens of thousands of European R&E institutions and public institutions across 39 countries to procure innovative cloud services in an easy, compliant, and cost-effective way. All available cloud service offerings are listed in a comprehensive OCRE 2024 catalogue on the GÉANT Clouds website and can be filtered by national availability, preferred platforms and service providers.
The Infoshare will be held online, 14:00-15:30 Chișinău time (13:00-14:30 CEST) using the RENAM video conferencing support service. The link to access the session will be sent to all registered participants.
