Seminar on promoting RENAM services at AMTAP

On June 22, 2023 RENAM delivered a seminar for the promotion of services in support of the digitisation of research and education in Moldova, the event was hosted by the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts (AMTAP).

RENAM specialists Valentin Pocotilenco and Nicolai Iliuha gave presentations on a variety of services:

• eduGAIN – a user authentication and authorisation service within the national identity federation LEAF (MoLdovan ResEarch and EducAtion Identity Federation), which simplifies access to national and European information resources for the research and education community;
• FileSender – a service that enables to send large files quickly and securely;
• Access to the Cloud infrastructure;
• GÉANT TCS (Trusted Certificate Services) – a digital certificate issuing service.

Over 20 participants comprising AMTAP administration and academic personnel attended the seminar. The discussion that followed the presentations covered a variety of areas such as the utility of the services presented, the possibility to access some library resources within AMTAP profile via eduGAIN, eduroam coverage in Moldova and its configuration possibilities, plus the need for videoconference support service training and the service’s increasing reliability.
