The General Meeting of the RENAM Public Association elected new members

On December 4, 2024, the General Meeting of the members of the RENAM Public Association took place in the premises of the Moldova State University, where Acad. Ion Tiginyanu, Dr. Grigore Secrieru, Dr. Peter Bogatencov, Anatol Goncearuc, and Veaceslav Roman (in online mode) participated.

At the proposal of the RENAM Management Board, Dr. Igor Sharov, Rector of Moldova State University, was elected as Co-President of the RENAM Public Association.

Also, there were elected the following new members of the RENAM Management Board:

• Dr. Igor Chiosa, Head of the Directorate for Research and Innovation Policy (Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova),
• Sergiu Corlat, Vice-Rector for digitalisation (Moldova State University),
• Roman Cecan, Head of Information Technology Department (Ion Creangă State Pedagogical University in Chisinau),
• Sergiu Gaugaș, Technical Director (RENAM),
• Nicolae Popa, Head of Asset Management (Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova).

During the meeting, the RENAM’s subscription for the GÉANT network and other services starting in 2025 (according to the GÉANT General Assembly resolution of November 20-21, 2024, Amsterdam, “Resolution on cost sharing: subscription fees for GÉANT infrastructure and services and membership fees for 2025”), for NRENs in all European countries, was discussed. In this context, the support of the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova is crucial for the further implementation and use of the resources and services of the GÉANT-RENAM platform by the national education and research sector.
