On December 10, 2024, RENAM delivered a seminar for the promotion of services in support of the research and education community in Moldova, the event was hosted by the Ion Creangă State Pedagogical University in Chisinau (UPSC). As the national research and education network, RENAM provides high-speed internet access and advanced digital services to academic institutions across the country.
Dr. Angela Globa, Vice-Rector for digitalization, communication, image and relations with social partnerships at UPSC, opened the seminar, emphasizing: “UPSC is a university with a digital vision that aims not only to implement information resources in the didactic process, but also to create a developed digital environment. For this purpose, the collaboration with RENAM, able to connect all higher education, research, medical and cultural institutions in the country, and offer them a wide range of services, is a beneficial one, realized on several dimensions: internet access, network services, access to eduroam, etc. This collaboration takes place because RENAM has established itself on the domestic market through qualified ICT specialists, including in ensuring cybersecurity, which is a rather vulnerable topic at the moment. Today’s seminar is a new opportunity to excel in the field of digitization of our institution by developing digital services and skills of UPSC employees.”

Representatives of the UPSC Administration, employees of the Information Technology Department and university staff attended the seminar. The discussion that followed the presentations covered a variety of areas, such as the connection of the interested persons to the eduroam service already implemented at UPSC, technical aspects of the FileSender service, organizational issues and benefits of access through eduGAIN to various resources and services, etc.
