Representative GEANT, Dr. Leonie Schäfer, a member of the German National Science and Education Network (DFN www.dfn.de), visited the Republic of Moldova on February 19-21, 2018.
On February 21, 2018, Dr. Leonie Schäfer held a working meeting at the RENAM Research and Education Association (www.renam.md).
Within the framework of the dialogue, the parties discussed issues related to the preparation, coordination and organization of the International Conference on the Promotion of the Development of the European Academic Infrastructure GEANT in autumn 2018.
This project is implemented in the Eastern Partnership region, in the field of electronic services in the field of research and education.
The organizational timetable and the provisional agenda of the event were considered and coordinated. Another problem raised during the meeting was the creation of an optical channel for direct connection of RENAM (node, Chisinau) -GEANT (Bucharest node) within the EaPConnect project (www.eapconnect.eu).
Leaders and officials from ministries, academies and representatives of educational institutions of the Eastern Partnership countries, as well as international institutions responsible for the promotion of electronic infrastructures, private companies and foundations will take part in the event.
The international conference will be organized by the GEANT Research and Education Network and the RENAM Association with the support of the EaPConnect project, funded by the European Commission.
